Kafka’s Night – Four Hours In

If you don’t know, I’m dedicating tonight to recreating Kafka’s illustrious night of creativity, in which he wrote the Judgement in its entirety! I’ve decided the night consists of half the day, for some reason, so I’m going to attempt to write from 10 PM to 10 AM (GMT), with as few interruptions as possible… Ignoring this, of course.

Progress has slowed considerably over the past two hours, I think my exhaustion is already beginning to take its hold. It may have been a better idea to attempt this when I have actually had a fair amount of sleep the night before, but that does feel like cheating! I’m a little over two thousand now and I am considering the title of this thing, which has just leapt out at me from the paragraph I just completed.

Me after four hours of staring at a computer screen! So... Not that much different from a normal day then.

I may have a small nap within the next few hours, just so that I can remain awake for the later parts of this experiment, but I will not go gentle into that good night! I will fight my exhaustion, at least, for a while!
