If you don’t know, I’m dedicating tonight to recreating Kafka’s illustrious night of creativity, in which he wrote the Judgement in its entirety! I’ve decided the night consists of half the day, for some reason, so I’m going to attempt to write from 10 PM to 10 AM (GMT), with as few interruptions as possible… Ignoring this, of course.
Okay, so my brief nap turned into a good four hours, as I partially expected it to, to be honest. As a result, my ‘all-nighter’ turned into 10 PM to 3 AM, then 7 AM to 10 AM. Maybe I need to plan this next time, as in actually decide more than a few hours beforehand that I’d be staying up all night in the oppressive heat and with only a few hours prior sleep to my name. I’ll probably attempt this idea gain at some point in the next week, but for now I’m pretty happy with the result. I wish I could do al little more to it, but that might feel a little dishonest.
I’m going to post the thing I wrote tonight, I think, spelling and grammar mistakes and all, and see if anyone has any interest in reading the damn thing. I’m quite excited by the short story though, so it is entirely likely it will only be up for a few weeks or so, so I can, I dunno, do something else with it. I don’t particularly want to change it, it could just do with tightening up a bit.
So, Kafka’s Night of Creativity result: Inconclusive.
How’s that for a disappointing first result!
